Nya has to walk whole mornings to get water for her house. She walks to a lake, 4 miles from her home. carrying a heavy bucket, bare feet, through thorns and pricks, for two whole trips. During dry season her family moves to a lake bed near their borders. Nya sits there for hours digging in the lake bed waiting for water to come out of the hole. Finally there is water. But the water they drink is bad water and is filled with dirt and mud. Many got sick. Some died. Nya's sister got sick to, but she made it. Than a group of people came by jeep. They started to drill a hole into the ground in between two trees. The men used a large iron giraffe. (Drill) after a few weeks, water started to shoot through the hole in the ground. The men had built a well! they all drank clean fresh water. and who was the daring man that was the leader? None other, than Salva Dut.
